Absolutely stunning location, it's hard to find a better one which is why we are only moving to the bottom of the same lane (we have already bought the house we are moving to, so no chain and we can move whenever we are required to).
Far reaching panoramic views from both the house and garden over the Cheshire plains and across to the Welsh mountains.
This is a very unusual contemporary home for those looking for something very different. It's been architect designed and remodelled by us to make the most of it's wonderful location. The house has been arranged upside down, bedrooms downstairs and large open plan living area upstairs with a big balcony both at the front and back of the house. The entrance area is through a double height, glass frontage into a modern hall with a bespoke, solid ash stair case leading up to the living area. Huge sliding windows pull back completely, opening the living area up and bringing the outside views in, perfect for a drink on a lovely evening. The bespoke hardwood folding windows do this in both the living and dining areas of the house.
It's been remodelled from a 4 bedroomed house, we wanted it to be more spacious so it now only has two bedrooms.
The kitchen area has shiny black, modern units and like the rest of the living area, has lovely views both front and back - or you can simply enjoy being able to talk to your guests from the kitchen - this is a great home for dinner parties, open, light and spacious.
Bespoke smoked glass internal doors in (ethically sourced) hard wood frames, thermally efficient glass used throughout, underfloor heating throughout, designer lighting and bespoke panelled ash ceilings throughout.
2 bedrooms (downstairs) the smaller bedroom (still a double room) has french doors leading out to a private, enclosed, walled patio area at ground level.
There is one main bathroom with simple, white, contemporary fittings (bath, shower, toilet and sink) and one small cloakroom bathroom with small sink and toilet.
There is also a utility room downstairs with a back door out onto the enclosed patio area. There is a sink, boiler and kitchen units for storage use in this room.
The garden is accessed from a bridge/balcony off the dining area and winds up a hill to sit higher than the house with terraced lawns and further breath taking views. It's a large garden approx 100 feet wide (may well be bigger) - completely private, surrounded by beautiful woodland and lovely sandstone out crops - with these features and the view, you don't really need to do much to the garden - it is striking enough naturally without needing much attention.
The garden has a small, contemporary garden office with it's own small, raised deck, Internet and electricity. There is also an old summer house which could do with some restoration but is still a lovely asset to the garden as is.
None of the pictures of this house do it any justice, it really needs to be seen in it's setting. Gooseberry lane is a very quiet, country lane (dead end so no through traffic, residents are the only people driving up here) It overlooks a lovely fruit farm and it's farm shop - so you can walk to the bottom of the lane and pick your own fruit or buy seasonal veg and organic eggs.
They also make their own apple juices and cider at the fruit farm.
At the other end of the lane is a small, green snicket which you can walk to a very pretty, old country pub down (The Boot). You can't hear or see the pub from Gooseberry Lane - but it's easy to walk to if you want a lovely meal, great coffee or a drink after a hard day. The lane leads to a foot path with numerous walks through the surrounding countryside. Delemere forrest with it's forrest cafe, concerts and nature walks is minutes away and for those of you interested in history, Gooseberry Lane is watched over by a hill fort set above it.
Willington Hall with it's spa treatments and cream teas is just around the corner.
You are close to Chester and within travelling distance of Manchester and Liverpool (and their airports)here. Wales is within easy reach as are numerous pretty Cheshire villages and canals.
